From Muzaffarpur to Mercedes-Benz Fellow: My Journey of Purpose and Possibility
I was born in the vibrant town of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, and at the age of 15, life took me to the serene foothills of Arunachal Pradesh, where I joined NERIST to study engineering. Those years weren’t just about textbooks—they were about transformation. Far from home, I discovered my love for learning, self-reliance, and storytelling.
After earning my B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, I started my career with the DDS Group, contributing to projects related to fighter aircraft systems. Later, I joined Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), a premier defence PSU, where I spent 3 years working on national security technologies. But even while working on cutting-edge systems, I felt a deeper pull towards sustainability, data science, and creating solutions that could improve lives.
That curiosity led me to enrol in IIT Madras’s online Data Science and Programming program. Though I couldn’t finish it due to work responsibilities, it gave me a solid foundation in data analysis, and more importantly, reminded me to never stop learning.
In fact, my academic journey took an exciting turn when I received MBA admission offers from four IIMs. But instead of corporate boardrooms, I chose the path of research. Today, I’m pursuing my MS (By Research) at IIT Jodhpur, working on sensor-based analytics for sustainability and water systems, under the mentorship of Dr. Shobhana Singh and Prof. Anand Palappally.
I am deeply honored to be selected as a BeVisioneers: Mercedes-Benz Fellow (2025–28)—a global program that empowers young innovators tackling climate and social challenges. Through this platform, I am nurturing my startup idea, GreenScore, an AI-powered system that measures how sustainable individuals and businesses are. GreenScore also won 3rd prize in the RBIH Green Fintech Hackathon, giving me hope that innovation can be both impactful and inclusive.
To bridge technology with policy, I’m also pursuing a PG Diploma in Environmental Law and Policy from NLU Delhi. I believe real change happens when tech, law, and people come together.
Outside the lab, I am many things—a solo traveller, a chess player, a poet, and an aspiring author. I write to reflect, to connect, and to heal. My poems and stories are rooted in real experiences—from sleepless hostel nights to quiet bus rides through rural India. I dream of publishing a memoir someday, weaving my journeys into words that inspire others to find beauty in struggle and strength in silence.
For me, the world is my classroom. Whether I’m coding at my desk, walking in the hills, or scribbling verses in a diary, I carry with me a hunger to grow, to give back, and to go beyond the obvious.
Because sometimes, the most powerful innovation is a story that moves someone to care—and act.
